Galentine coffee tasting

The Press House, located at 505 Broad St., is hosting a Galentine Coffee Tasting Feb. 10-14. Sessions are 90 minutes long and cost $125 total for one to five guests and $200 total for six to 10 guests. To reserve a timeslot, email audrey@presshousecoffee.com or text 412-848-1436.

Sale of book bags

Stop by Sewickley Public Library between January 28th and February 5th to sample the short stacks the friends at Sewickley Library have prepared for you! Each Short Stack includes a kind of five books for $5, sealed in a bag. What’s in the bag? Like a good casserole, it’s a surprise!

Choose from one of these Short Stack bags for your reading pleasure: Fiction Feast, Young Adult Yummies, Memoir/Biography Bites, Mystery Munchies, and History Hankering.

No reservation required. It’s a sweet treat, a five for $5 grab and go!

• Sewickley Public Library offers Mondays to go and cook every Monday for students in grades 6-12. Young people can pick up a free project kit from 3-6 p.m. at the library, The Public Library at 500 Thorn St. Sewickley will host a virtual program called A Teen’s Guide to Workplace Rights. It is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on February 8. It is open to all students in grades 6 through 12. Registration is mandatory. Sewickley House Tour

The Sewickley Child Health Association House Tour is back and will feature six historic Sewickley homes. The self-guided tour will take place on April 29 and 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ticket purchases are valid for both days; however, each house can only be visited once. Quaker Valley Kindergarten Enrollment

Kindergarten enrollment for the 2022-23 school year in the Quaker Valley School District is open. Children must be 5 years old by September 1, 2022.

The registration form takes about 20 minutes to complete and is best done on a laptop or desktop computer.

Kindergarten registration is not the same as the Kindergarten Roundup, which is an event held in February. However, by completing the registration form, QVSD will have your contact details and will be in communication regarding KRU details.

Supporting documents are required to enroll your student. This includes a copy of birth certificate or passport, immunization records from the doctor’s office, and proof of residency – utility bill (gas, electric, water, or cable) and/or a current driver’s license from PA; if you are new to the area and do not yet have proof of residency, you can submit this information later.

You will have the option to submit some or all of the supporting documents as an attachment to the kindergarten registration form. Alternatively, you can email supporting documents to registration@qvsd.org after completing the registration form. For questions or more information, contact inscription@qvsd.org or 412-749-5095.

Greater Pittsburgh Business Connection

The Greater Pittsburgh Business Connection, a referral group of business professionals, will meet Feb. 9 at Eat N’ Park on Route 60 in Robinson Township for breakfast from 7:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

St. Stephen’s Anglican Church

Open to the public and a Friday tradition since 1976, guests are invited to lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Christy House, located on the corner of Frederick and Walnut streets in Sewickley.

The Christy House has two unique stores, the Needles Eye (new) and Earthly Treasures (gently used), where special gift items and collectibles can be purchased. Lunch reservations made online must be made by Thursday 9:00 a.m.

If you are reserving on Friday, please call Maison Christy at 412-741-5960. The suggested dinner donation is $15 for adults and $5 for children. All proceeds are donated to various ministries and missions, especially those dealing with the needs of women and children.
